Harrison Chau

NZ born Harrison Chau is a harpist based in and around Auckland and holds an honours degree in Harp Classical Performance from the University of Auckland.

Harrison's musical journey began after first having learnt the cello and piano at ages 10 and 13 respectively, before finally falling in love with the harp at 16. He has since performed with various orchestras around New Zealand including the Auckland Philharmonia, Dunedin Symphony, St.Matthew's Chamber and Auckland Youth Orchestras - having also appeared as soloist with the AYO in 2021.

Aside from his solo and orchestral endeavours, he also has experience as an event harpist and provides music for private functions and weddings and is currently one of the harpists performing regularly for high tea at the Cordis hotel.

When not performing he can be found tutoring for the Sistema Program in Otara. Most recently he has found an interest in contemporary styles such as Jazz.
