Terms & Conditions

At Blockhouse Bay School of Music we endeavour to always offer a supportive and

engaging environment, with our primary goal being the education and musical guidance

of our students. We are proud to offer lessons by industry-qualified professional

musicians for all ages and abilities.

Please make sure that you read and understand our Terms and Conditions regarding

cancellations, catch-ups and missed lessons before signing up for classes. Any questions

or queries should be directed in writing to office@bhbsm.ac.nz

For Individual Lessons

Students with a planned absence (prior notice of at least 24hrs or more) will be offered a catch-up lesson (max. 2 per school term). This will be arranged between the teacher and student and/or parent/caregiver.

No catch-up or credits will be offered if less than 24hrs notice is given. These lessons will be considered forfeited.

If the teacher is unavailable, the School will offer a catch-up lesson. This will be arranged between the teacher and student and/or parent/caregiver. We will always endeavour to give the student as much notice of a lesson cancellation as possible.

Group Classes

No catch-up lessons will be provided for an individual student’s group class lesson.

If you are unable to attend a lesson, please contact the School at the earliest opportunity.

If the teacher is unavailable, the School will offer a catch-up lesson. This will be offered in the first week of the term holiday at the usual lesson day/time.

Cancellation

If the student, or parent/caregiver of the student, wishes to cancel the lesson with the School, written notice must be received by BHBSM Management at least two weeks prior to the intended last lesson. Any lessons remaining after the end date will be credited to the customer’s account if payment has already been made.

Verbal notice given to the tutor will not be acted upon and is not considered sufficient unless confirmed in writing to BHBSM main office by the student, or parent/caregiver of the student.

If the student parent/caregiver of the student is unable to give two weeks’ notice, they will be charged a late notice fee equivalent to two weeks of lessons (or if only one week’s notice is given, a late notice fee equivalent to the cost of one week’s lessons will be charged).

All lesson cancellations/planned absences must be communicated to office@bhbsm.ac.nz
